Why Conservation Is Everyone Responsibility

Conservation is often framed as the work of scientists, park rangers, and policy experts. But the reality is that conservation happens everywhere, and everyone plays a role. The choices we make about what we buy, eat, and discard ripple outward through supply chains and ecosystems.

Effective conservation also requires engaging with difficult questions about justice, economics, and competing interests. Protecting a forest may affect the livelihoods of people who depend on it. Conservation that excludes people is neither just nor sustainable. The most durable successes come when communities see themselves as partners in protection.
